1974.95a is the accompanying box. This wooden case bears a label identifying the work as a 'Ming Qing Painting' by Zhang Ya. Richard Born has suggested that the brushwork, a wet on wet technique, mixture of Zhe and Wu (literatus) school styles, and the peculiar three-part composition may indicate a Korean origin for this painting (Joseon dynasty, 17th century).
