Polvent relates the history of his life in a long letter. His adoptive parents died and he has been attempting to locate his natural parents for several years. "I don't seem to have a name of own except Clifford John. I won't impose on your kindness by taking your name, although it does have a rather [sic] dignity to it." Enclosed a photograph of himself as well as some poems, no longer with the letter.
