The first edition. In wall map form. It is difficult to find any changes between this and the 1835 edition, although there probably are some. Ristow states that there was an issue of this map in 1834 without the word "Mitchell" in the title (see our copy #4843), and he does not mention this word appearing in the title until the 1835 issue. He also notes an 1834 issue of essentially the same map but with the title changed to "A New Map of the United States" (Karrow 1-1484 and our #4396). Insets show the United States, south part of Florida, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, north part of Maine, Rochester, Niagara Falls, Albany, Baltimore and Washington, Cincinnati, Charleston and New Orleans. With black top and bottom rollers. Full color by state.
