Large scale map of the state, which is a lithographic reissued of Borden's 1844 map (see our copy) with updates and additions by Walling. Numerous inset maps of cities, a climatological map by Blodgett, a geological map by Hitchcock, statistics from the 1860 census, and a table of distances. The new material on the map is based on the Massachusetts county surveys and maps made by Walling from 1855-60. Full color. Map is dissected into 24 sections and backed and bordered with linen. Folds with marbled end sheets into a new blue cloth folding case 38x34 with "Topographical Map Of Massachusetts Walling & Borden 1861" stamped in gold on the spine.
