This is the first year of publication of the smaller version of Thayer's Colorado map; although this copy says third edition, there do not seem to be any changes between it and the map illustrated in Ellis (55) as the first 1873 edition. This edition does not have the red overprinting showing the land districts, which appears in the 1875 edition. Map is full color by county and folded into beige card board covers 14x9 printed with "Thayer's New Map Of Colorado. 1873. Published by Richards & Co., 372 Larimer Street, Denver. Price 50 Cents."
