Scarce, not in any references. The only mention of this map appears in ABPC 1987 Sotheby's sale to Quaritch for 1600 pounds. This copy came out of a 1730 house in Fairfield Connecticut, where it may have been since it was published. This copy is very browned with some losses at the edges restored. The map is very elaborate, showing all kinds of terrestrial and celestial information. Thompson also did a map of America in 1799 and a later edition of this map in 1817 (Tooley Dict.). Uncolored. Shows voyages of Captain Cook and crews, and discovery of Cape of Good Hope by Vasques di Gana in 1487. Relief shown by hachures.
