Proposed surveys are indicated by dotted lines. An explanation at the lower left of the map includes symbols for gold, silver, copper, quicksilver, iron, tin, asphaltum, coal, and oil springs. Land offices are in bright red with the Surveyor Generals' Office in green. The report is bound with green linen and "Land Office Report. 1867. Abridgment" on the cover in gold.
