Shows Geology, Railroads, History, Statistics. Extraordinary New Orleans imprint map chock full of useful information, plus vignettes of the State Capital and "Edwards House, Jackson, Miss., H. Hilzheim Proprietor." Hardee was the state engineer, and the map is "Officially compiled under authority from the State Legislature." The first edition was 1868 (listed in Phillips). The Governor also signed the map (in litho). Map is folded into black stamped cloth covers 16x10.5 with "Hardee's Map Of Mississippi 1872" in gilt.
