The second edition. Karrow shows the first edition as 1845. This is an attractive map, showing the area from Ohio to Missouri and Wisconsin to Kentucky. It is extracted from Mitchell's large Reference and Distance Map of the United States. Full color by county, folded into embossed dark brown cloth covers 18.5x11.5 with "Mitchell's Map Of The Western States" in gold; covers are closed with a brass clasp. Scarce. Prime meridian is Washington D.C. Relief shown by hachures.
