Note:
This is similar to Mitchell's 1833 Traveller's Guide, with a full color single sheet map of the U.S. (taken from Mitchell's version of the Finley U.S. map) and a single sheet of text covering Steamboat and Canal Routes, Principal Roads, and Statistics (much of this information comes from Mitchell's sheet that accompanies his guide). Williams' relationship with Mitchell probably started with this guide and continued into the 1840's when he moved to Philadelphia and made other maps for Mitchell, including the Texas map for the 1846 Universal Atlas. Covers are decoratively printed in gold on green card board 13x8, with the above title and an ornate border. Rare. Prime meridian is Greenwich.
