The second county atlas with colored views. Howden worked on the first county atlas with colored views, the Atlas of Clarion County of 1877 by Joseph Caldwell. It is interesting to note that the views here are colored in differing numbers of colors and some are not colored at all, indicating that the purchasers of the views were offered different prices depending on the amount of color employed. As with the Clarion County Atlas, many of the views show oil wells, although not as many appear as in the Clarion Atlas. Printed by Otto Krebs of Pittsburgh. Full color.
