2nd edition -1st was 1838. Has large folding map of the United States that was also published as a wall map which added two sheets, one that carried the map further west and a second across the bottom with various scenes. See later editions listed under Humphrey Phelps. Inset maps show the vicinities of New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, New Orleans, Mobile, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Charleston, Pittsburg, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, and Niagara Falls, and the south part of Florida and north part of Maine. Bound into stamped dark green leather covers with "Phelps & Ensign Travellers Guide Through The United States" in gold. Outline color by state. Prime meridian is Washington D.C.
