First and only edition, although West and Johnston reissued the map under their imprint in 1862 (see our #2895). Inset view of Capital Square, Richmond. Bucholtz also did the 1859 revision of the large and small editions of the Boye - Wood map of Virginia. The 1862 West and Johnston map adds telegraph lines, springs, stations on roads, and several railroads in northwestern Virginia and Ohio. Full color. Folded into stamped dark brown cloth covers 16x11 with "Map Of Virginia" in gilt.
