.The first edition; Phillips shows editions of 1808, 1816, 1818, 1826, 1830, and 1836. The last edition had 46 maps on 56 sheets. This was obviously a popular atlas that had a long publishing run. Smith also made globes, several of which were used (with credit given) as sources by Josiah Loring of Boston. Maps are hand painted with outline color.
