Description
[JBW to Garvey] Joanna mentions that she thinks it's possible that the "premature break-up of home-life for HCW at the time of his mother's entry into a sanatorium for TB may have a relationship to the appeal the house-form had for him at that time." She approves of Garvey's use of the phrase "small scale" rather than "miniature" when referring to HCW's houses. Gives some details as to various characters living in the Gold Coast at the same time that HCW did. Mentions spaceship-houses in HCW's drawings at the time; also almost all of his houses had a tower, usually with a figure or memorial in them. She will send a photograph of the octagon house sketch. It got a bit wet several years ago and is slightly blurred.
