Composition (Intersecting Diagonals) (Komposition [sich schneidender Diagonalen])
Description
This is an early state of the print before the signature and date of 1923 added (in reverse) into plate at the lower left. The pencil inscription by the artist suggests that the date of this impression is 1924. It is unclear from the way the artist wrote "20=4) if he intended the = sign to stand for a hypen, since he signed the plate "M=N", siginfiying Moholy-Nagy. If so, then one should date this work circa 1920-23, as an early proof made sometime before the 1923 reworking of signature and date, but not signed and dated in pencil by the artist until 1924.

Circa 1920 - 23 (this impression signed and dated 1924)
